I love the Colorado Rockies baseball team, and for many seasons I have written about their ups and downs for various publications. But after three consecutive seasons of over 100 losses, I find it difficult to continue to write about them with enthusiasm for the usual speculation and analysis.

For this season, I’m choosing to write baseball poetry in an effort to spread joy about my favorite team in a way that can even bring beauty to a losing season and foster hope that this may actually be the rebuild season Rockies fans have been waiting for.
